At Singular, Fabian explains that, as entrepreneurs, the company wants to work with either business shareholders or successful business leaders in large corporations. Singular looks for outstanding, top-ranking people in all dimensions, who share the “entrepreneurial” DNA that separates Singular from other consultancies. He is inspired by the work the company achieves in delivering the real “bottom-line” for their clients, whether through an investment or by implementing a good idea or process. Fabian brings over fifteen years of consulting experience in industrial goods and emerging markets. He is a former member of the Boston Consulting Group’s Industrial Goods and Metals & Mining Global Leadership team. He is looking after Singular’s investments. Fabian graduated in Business administration and Engineering from the University of Augsburg.

Although based in Germany, Florian spends most of his time on the road. As Director, his activities focus on Africa, the Middle East and Europe. “The combination of emerging markets and well-established economies allows a high degree of knowledge transfer in both directions – we observe great results triggered by this two-way exchange.” The opportunity to also combine consulting services and services in the investment space was one of the major reasons for Florian to help build Singular: “In our interaction with clients, we see a lot of value in being able to alternate between both perspectives.” Florian began his career at The Boston Consulting Group, where he quickly became part of the Industrial Goods leadership team. Initially based in Germany, he worked across a number of regions including the Americas, Africa and Europe before relocating to BCG’s CIS office network (Russia, Ukraine) for a further three years, setting up the company’s agriculture practice in Kiev among other achievements. Overall, Florian looks back on more than 12 years in consulting and entrepreneurship.

As Director at Singular and head of its African operations, Lorenzo is motivated by the drive to build businesses that leave a tangible trail, whilst allowing entrepreneurs to do what they love, with a degree of freedom from traditional corporate constraints. “One of the best rewards we have had over the past few years is that we have encouraged our employees, alumni and clients’ key individuals to venture and succeed in new entrepreneurial projects they would never have considered before.” For Lorenzo, the concept of “resource productivity technologies” is intriguing, as well as the ability to “do more with less” in the realm of energy and natural resources. His technology investments/commercialisation efforts revolve around these themes. Lorenzo began his career at Bain & Company in Milano before moving across to Paris as a member of Bain’s Private Equity Group. Lorenzo holds an MBA from the London Business School and a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Politecnico di Milano. He is a proud member of the Young President Organization (YPO) in Johannesburg. Overall, Lorenzo looks back at more than a decade in consulting, entrepreneurship and investing and at a professional career spanning across 10 countries and 4 continents.

Ralph brings in many years of professional experience at leading global strategy consulting firms working with the industrial goods industries. Ralph has worked intensively on assignments in the CIS mining, resource and related production and energy sectors. His areas of expertise are along business strategy, turnaround, transformation and interim management, as well as operational improvement and procurement optimisation. Ralph is a Senior Partner at Singular and leading our CIS business.

A self-avowed travel addict, Gregor’s love for new destinations and chances to learn have been well met by Singular’s project work and international scope of business consulting. Gregor graduated from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) with a degree in Business Engineering and is based in Munich. Prior to joining Singular in early 2015, he was Head of Corporate Strategy at Smartrac, a global high-tech company and a Senior Consultant at the Boston Consulting Group. Gregor thrives on a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment, which keep him inspired and Singular, he believes, is always surprising and never boring.

At Singular, Henriette has successfully switched career tracks between consulting and investment management. She has spent 3 years as Chief Operations Officer managing the turn-around of one of Singular’s investments in the clean tech sector. After completing her assignment, she successfully moved back into the consulting sector of Singular and now supports our team as Principal. Based out of Munich, Henriette works mainly on European and African projects. Before working for Singular, Henriette worked 3 years at IBM Germany completing different assignments related to project and portfolio management. Henriette holds an MSc degree in Management from HHL Graduate School of Management and a BA degree in International Business Administration. She is passionate about traveling and culture and spent her sabbatical from Singular studying Russian.

At Singular, Max focuses on value creation for our clients in Europe and Africa. His focus areas are strategy, turnaround, economic development, marketing and sales, M&A, cost reduction, and organization. His expertise spans across various industries, including automotive, energy infrastructure, private equity, and public clients. Before joining Singular, Max worked with McKinsey & Company for five years. He also started three social ventures, all addressing the issue of youth employment: The first student-run consulting firm in Africa, an entrepreneurship boot camp for unemployed youth, and a program training unemployed youth to become nurses in Germany. As a student, Max ran his own consulting firm and founded a travel application. Max completed his Ph.D. on Youth Unemployment in South Africa. He utilized scenario planning to draw up possible future states and derive solutions tackling the challenge. Before his Ph.D., he studied Technology and Management as B.Sc. and M.Sc. at the Technical University in Munich. He subsequently completed an Honour’s degree in Technology Management, spending a term abroad at Columbia Business School in New York, and interning in Germany, Singapore, PR China, and Spain.

Dennis joined Singular Group in 2015 working in the Johannesburg Office. During this time, Dennis gathered extensive experience in various countries in Sub-Saharan Africa and Brazil advising international commodity companies on strategy projects. Today, Dennis is part of our Munich Office where he is a core team member of our Investment Advisory Services: Dennis has led many commercial due diligence projects for our Private Equity clients throughout Europe. Before Singular, Dennis studied Business (WHU-Otto Beisheim School of Management, ESADE, ESCP Europe and PUC Chile) and gathered work experience in consulting, start-ups and strategy/investment departments of European blue chips.

Rohit joined Singular in 2016, and has worked on a variety of consulting and investment management assignments across Johannesburg and Munich offices. Based out of Delhi and working on international assignments, he can truly relate to Singular core values of being global, committed and entrepreneurial. In the course of several projects around strategy and innovation, Rohit spent much time in South Africa, with Johannesburg almost becoming like a second home for him. Currently, Rohit works very closely with the Johannesburg office and helps develop innovative answers to address issues faced by mining industry leaders. He is a Metallurgical and Materials Engineering graduate from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur in India and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from IMT, Ghaziabad in India. Before Singular, Rohit gathered extensive experience in the metals and mining field as a Consultant and Marketing Manager with leading global organisations.

In 2014, Philipp joined Singular to support the finance sector, and in 2017, he became Chief Financial Officer. Philipp started his professional career in the German construction business, and then gained his first international experience while working for Accenture in Buenos Aires, Argentina for two years. His time in Argentina has deeply influenced his view of life, both personally and professionally. At Singular, each day is an opportunity for him to gain further experience by working with companies in countries with different local laws, rules and habits. Philipp holds a Diploma of Business Administration from the Business and Administration Academy in Munich.

Monica has almost ten years of experience in the HR environment inside of consulting companies. During her career she developed several skills not only in the traditional HR environment but also in discovering new digital path to support productivity, communication between departments and candidate experience. Her broad experience includes talent acquisition, performance management, retention, training, analysis on budgets and recruiting benchmarks. She is a former employee of BCG and she gained a degree on foreign languages. She started her adventure at Singular as Head of Talent Acquisition and what she really appreciated since the beginning is the entrepreneurial mindset that can be breathed and experienced within the company.
